Sekisui Sets 3-Year Profit Record with 81.9 Billion Yen Surge and 108 Billion Yen Buyback
Sekisui Chemical has done it again—posting a record-breaking ¥81.9 billion in net profit for the third consecutive year, up 5% from the previous fiscal cycle. Riding the wave of booming AI-related semiconductor demand, the company’s high-performance plastics segment has emerged as a key growth engine.
Investors have more reason to celebrate. The company announced a dividend hike to ¥79 per share, exceeding earlier guidance by ¥2 and up ¥5 year-over-year. In addition, Sekisui unveiled a massive ¥108 billion share buyback plan, targeting up to 4 million shares, or approximately 0.96% of its outstanding stock.
Looking ahead, the firm projects net income to inch higher to ¥82 billion in the 2025–2026 fiscal year, with total revenue forecast to reach ¥1.3645 trillion. However, new U.S. tariffs—anticipated under potential Trump administration policies—could shave ¥2.5 billion off profits.
Executive Managing Officer Yusuke Shimizu emphasized a two-pronged strategy to offset these pressures: expanding U.S. production capacity and raising prices to pass on cost increases. Despite external headwinds, Sekisui remains focused on scaling its global operations and capitalizing on fast-growing tech-driven sectors.
