EFSA Confirms Copper Betaine Complex Effective for All Animal Feed

On June 5, 2025, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a scientific opinion confirming that the copper(II)-betaine complex is an effective nutritional feed additive for all animal species. The assessment was conducted by the FEEDAP Panel at the request of the European Commission.

The evaluation highlighted that the copper(II)-betaine complex is a bioavailable source of copper, making it suitable for all animal diets. A new efficacy study on fattening chickens demonstrated the additive's effectiveness, reinforcing its use in animal nutrition.
