Cabot Launches 95F Conductive Additive to Boost Lithium Battery Life for Energy Storage Demands Soar
On July 29, Cabot Corporation unveiled its new 95F conductive additive, engineered specifically for lithium-ion batteries in energy storage systems. This advanced material is designed to increase conductivity, extend battery cycle life, and enhance processing efficiency—addressing the critical need for durability and stability in high-frequency cycling applications across residential, commercial, and industrial storage scenarios.
With the global push for carbon neutrality, energy storage solutions are expanding rapidly, and battery manufacturers face mounting pressure to deliver high-performance systems with long life and robust reliability. Cabot’s 95F conductive additive enables superior energy density and flexibility in battery formulation, performing exceptionally well in thick-electrode pouch cell tests by retaining capacity even after repeated cycles.
The additive’s unique high-structure morphology supports strong electronic pathways during intense charge/discharge cycles and integrates seamlessly with thick positive electrodes. This not only preserves performance but also helps reduce overall material costs—a key advantage as the storage market scales up.
