CP Chem Doubles PAO Capacity in Belgium to 120000 Tons Now Europe’s Largest Low-Viscosity Base Oil Facility
Chevron Phillips Chemical (CP Chem) has completed its low-viscosity polyalphaolefin (PAO) expansion in Beringen, Belgium, raising annual output to 120,000 tons and making it the largest facility of its kind in Europe. The project solidifies CP Chem’s global leadership in specialty chemicals, with enhanced synergy alongside existing operations.
Low-viscosity PAO is a vital base oil for automotive and industrial lubricants, and demand is surging thanks to applications in electric vehicles, wind turbines, and immersion cooling for new technologies. CP Chem’s regional manager Antoine Janssens emphasized that the expansion strengthens the company’s legacy and boosts its ability to deliver sustainable, high-performance solutions to a growing market.
As industries worldwide seek greener and more efficient products, CP Chem’s expanded capacity positions it at the forefront of the evolving PAO sector.
