Kao Launches Tertiary Amine Production in the U.S.
Kao Corporation has opened a new tertiary amine production facility in Pasadena, Texas, with an annual capacity of 20,000 tons. The plant is designed to strengthen Kao’s ability to meet the growing demand in the U.S. market.
As one of the world’s leading producers of tertiary amines, Kao already operates three production sites in Japan, the Philippines, and Germany. Leveraging proprietary technologies, the company delivers high-quality products to global customers. With the launch of the Pasadena facility, Kao has established a production network spanning North America, Europe, and Asia, ensuring faster and more reliable supply worldwide.
Daisuke Hamada, President of Kao’s Chemical Business, stated:“This new facility marks a strategic milestone for Kao’s chemical business. It will support our business growth in North America and strengthen our global supply network. By combining our proprietary technologies with a proven safety record and strict quality control, the Pasadena plant will serve as a cornerstone for a stable, resilient, and sustainable global supply chain.”
Covering 45 hectares, the Pasadena plant is positioned not only as a production platform for tertiary amines but also as a hub for developing derivative products in collaboration with partners.
