Petroleum coke prices from local refineries slightly increased at the end of September

ECHEMI 2025-10-01

September 30 update

According to the commodity analysis system, at the end of September, the price of domestically refined petroleum coke in China saw a slight increase, with the price in the Shandong market reaching 2383.25 CNY per ton as of September 30, up 1.09% from 2357.50 CNY per ton on September 22.

The recent decline in oil prices is mainly due to OPEC+ planning to continue increasing production in November, and the resumption of crude oil exports from the Kurdish region of Iraq, leading to a drop in international oil prices.

Recently, the prices of petroleum coke from local refineries in China have slightly increased, with most refineries maintaining stable prices to execute orders before the holiday, and the prices of petroleum coke have shown both increases and decreases recently. The shipment of petroleum coke at ports has been satisfactory, and the price of sponge coke has slightly increased.

Recent calcined coke prices have risen, and at the end of the month, new orders are being signed with manufacturers showing a strong willingness to increase prices.

Future market forecast: Currently, manufacturers have basically completed signing orders during the holiday period, and downstream sectors are mainly purchasing according to their needs. After the holiday, procurement demand may increase, and it is expected that the price of petcoke will rise slightly.
