This Week's Epichlorohydrin Market Remains Stable (10.20-10.24)

ECHEMI 2025-10-31

October 30, news

This week, the epichlorohydrin market in China remained stable. According to the monitoring and analysis system, as of October 24, the benchmark price of epichlorohydrin was 12,000.00 CNY/ton, a decrease of -1.64% compared to the beginning of the month (12,200.00 CNY/ton).

Price influencing factors:

On the raw material front: Glycerin remains firmly supported at high levels. High prices in the international market, combined with tight supply, have intensified cost pressures for glycerin-based epichlorohydrin manufacturers, significantly squeezing profit margins and creating strong upward pressure on epichlorohydrin prices. Currently, the glycerin market is experiencing a pronounced supply-demand imbalance, and it’s expected that cost pressures will continue to ripple downstream into the epichlorohydrin industry chain in the near term. According to market analysis systems, as of October 24, the benchmark price for propylene stood at 6,158.25 CNY per ton—down 5.88% from the beginning of this month (6,543.25 CNY per ton).

On the demand side: Downstream buyers are procuring on an as-needed basis, while end-consumer demand remains sluggish, lacking strong support. Most purchases consist of small, immediate-need orders, with only a few significant deals being finalized. As a result, epoxy chloropropane market prices are expected to remain weak but stable in the near term.

Market Forecast: Epoxy Chloropropane analysts believe that glycerol continues to provide some support for epoxy chloropropane prices due to its cost implications, while downstream industries maintain steady, rigid demand with limited purchasing activity. As a result, the market price of epoxy chloropropane is expected to remain generally stable in the near term, though ongoing attention will still be needed on raw material costs and shifts in supply-demand dynamics.
