BASF Reports Modest Third Quarter Decline Amid Global Market Caution
On October 30, 2025, BASF released Q3 results, showing a 3% decline in sales to €14.3 billion and EBITDA of €1.5 billion, slightly below the previous year.
BASF’s leadership noted that customer purchasing behavior remains cautious across industries and regions. Sales were affected by adverse currency effects, particularly involving the USD, RMB, and INR, as well as price declines in chemicals, materials, industrial solutions, and agricultural solutions.
Adjusted EBITDA remained relatively stable at 10%, while net income was €172 million, down from €287 million last year. BASF has also initiated a share buyback program up to €1.5 billion, signaling confidence in the company’s underlying value.
The company maintained its full-year guidance for adjusted EBITDA at €6.7–7.1 billion, reflecting a stable outlook despite challenging global conditions.
