Taking the sulfuric acid method rutile titanium dioxide, which has a large sales volume in the Chinese market, as an example, according to data monitoring, the price of titanium dioxide in China increased in December. The average price of titanium dioxide on December 1st was 13,500 CNY per ton, and on December 26th, it was 13,740 CNY per ton, with a price increase of 1.78%.
II. Market Analysis
In December, the price of titanium dioxide in China increased. In early December, titanium dioxide companies faced significant cost pressures, leading to continued price increases from the previous month. During mid-December, the market was generally cautious, with the titanium dioxide market remaining stagnant. In late December, multiple titanium dioxide companies, including Lomon, Dawn, Titan, and Anada, once again issued letters to increase the prices of titanium dioxide. As of now, the quotations for sulfate process rutile titanium dioxide in China are mostly between 12,900 and 14,300 CNY per ton; anatase type is around 12,200 to 12,700 CNY per ton, with actual transaction prices negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
According to customs data, in November 2025, China's titanium dioxide imports were approximately 5,300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 20.29% and a month-on-month decrease of 5.37%. The average import price for the month was $3,083 per ton, a month-on-month decrease of 3.98%.
According to customs data, in November 2025, China's titanium dioxide exports were approximately 152,000 tons, an increase of 1.96% year-over-year and an increase of 3.97% month-over-month. The average export price for the month was $1,877 per ton, a decrease of 0.18% month-over-month.
III. Future Market Forecast
Titanium dioxide analysts believe: Due to the impact of production costs this month, titanium dioxide manufacturers in China are under significant pressure. The market has seen two consecutive rounds of price increases, and manufacturers have a positive attitude towards raising prices. The market is still in the process of accepting new order quotations.
