Introduction of THF and PTMEG import and export in China for the first half of 2021

THF： 

Exports: according to Chinese customs data, in the first half of 2021 China tetrahydrofuran (THF) accumulative total exports of 7260 tons, up 207.66% from a year earlier. Export amount is $2647.62, an average of $3647 m tonnes a year.

From the main exporter of view, in the first half of 2021 South Korea, Italy, India, Belgium and Japan is China THF exporter of the top five export (by weight), combined exports accounted for 90%. Including mainland China exports to South Korea, Italy, India and Japan, respectively, the weight of the year-on-year growth of 767%, year-on-year growth of 25%, year-on-year growth of 149%, fell 17% year on year, in the first half of 2020 China THF not exported to Belgium; China exports to the total weight of the exporter of the top five year-on-year growth of 414%.

Imports: According to China customs data, China's cumulative THF imports in the first half of 2021 amounted to 5,173 tons, up 76.51% year-on-year. Imports amounted to us $19,028,800, with an average price of US $3,678 a ton.

From the point of main import country of origin, in the first half of 2021 China Taiwan, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia is China's top three THF (by import weight) of origin, the three combined accounted for about 97% in the import of origin. Including mainland China imported from Taiwan, China and Saudi Arabia weight grew by 87% year on year, fell 8% year on year, respectively, in the first half of 2020 China not imported from Malaysia THF; Mainland China once upon a time three origin imports rose 89% in the total weight.

PTMEG :

 Exports: According to Chinese Customs data, China's cumulative exports of primary shape polytetramethylene ether diol (PTMEG) in the first half of 2021 were 17,687 tons, up 255.32% year on year.  Exports were us $79,150,200 with an average price of US $4,475 tons.

In terms of major export destinations, Brazil, Singapore, Turkey, Thailand and South Korea are the top five export destinations (by export weight) of PTMEG from mainland China in the first half of 2021, accounting for 86% of total exports. Among them, PTMEG exported from Mainland China to Singapore, Turkey, Thailand and South Korea increased by 140%, 10,606%, 83% and 37% year-on-year respectively. In the first half of 2020, no PTMEG was exported from Mainland China to Brazil. The combined weight of Mainland China's exports to the top five export destinations rose 237 percent year on year.

Imports: China's cumulative PTMEG imports in the first half of 2021 were 23,991 tons, down 0.28% year-on-year, according to China Customs. The import value was us $91.3644 million with an average price of US $3,808 tons.

In terms of main import origin, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan are the top three origin countries (by import weight) of PTMEG in mainland China in the first half of 2021, accounting for nearly 100% of the total import of these three origin countries. Among them, the weight imported by Mainland China from Taiwan, South Korea and Japan increased by 4%, decreased by 29% and increased by 51% year-on-year respectively. The combined weight of imports from China's top three origin countries fell 0.1 percent year-on-year.
