CBD cosmetics has attracted tremendous attention in the United States

Last December, after the signing of the Agricultural Bill by President Trump of the United States, hemp extract component cannabinol (CBD) has become a new popular superfood in the United States, which has aroused great concern in the industry. According to Woo Eunjeong, Los Angeles Trade Officer of KOTRA, President Trump signed the Agricultural Bill in December last year to legalize the cultivation of industrial cannabis again, according to CNBC. According to CNBC, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) still insists on banning all cannabis ingredients, including CBD, from all foods and beverages.
According to Brightfield Group, a market research institute, according to the Agricultural Act, the CBD market size of legitimate industrial cannabis excluded from relevant legal provisions of cannabis will reach US$5 billion in 2019 and increase to US$20 billion by 2022.
CBD, named Cannabidiol in English, is a compound extracted from industrial hemp. Industrial hemp is a kind of cannabis. There are many kinds of cannabis, including industrial hemp and marijuana.
Drug cannabinol contains a lot of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) which stimulates hallucination. One of the defining criteria of industrial cannabis is that the content of THC must be less than 0.3%, so it is widely used as raw material.
There are many studies on CBD components currently being carried out. CBD components have no hallucinogenic effect and can alleviate pain and seizures at the same time. They are very effective for specific diseases and cancer treatment. According to Bloomberg, industrial cannabis CBD has no hallucinogenic effect and can help modern people alleviate the symptoms of restlessness, long-term back pain, physical pain, post-exercise muscle pain, dandruff, lip cracking and other symptoms. Therefore, it has recently attracted wide attention among relevant industries and consumers in the United States. After the adoption of the Agricultural Act, the United States has begun to introduce various types of CBD products, awaiting FDA approval.
But it has not been approved by FDA yet. The relevant industries should pay close attention to the change of situation. Although CBD products extracted from industrial cannabis are listed legally under federal law, there are different laws in different states in the United States. The FDA still clearly stipulates that CBD ingredients are not allowed to be added to food, beverage and health products. According to Business Insider, the aforementioned cannabis and CBD extracted from cannabis are illegal under federal law, but different state governments stipulate that medical cannabis is legal in 33 states, medical cannabis and recreational cannabis are legal in 10 states and medical and recreational cannabis in some states. According to KOTRA Los Angeles Trade Museum's interview with relevant legal lawyers, the exception clause of the Agricultural Act clearly states that FDA will continue to monitor the use of CBD in food and health functional products, and that many CBD-related food and beverage products are still the object of FDA's control under the current Act. However, according to CNBC, CBD has attracted widespread attention in American society and has become a popular trend. In a word, the relevant market is in an uncertain grey stage between federal and state laws and FDA regulations. Therefore, the CBD industry is strongly demanding that FDA formulate clear new regulations.
The relevant industries are paying close attention to the attitude of FDA and related changes. Enterprises interested in relevant industries should actively collect relevant information before all laws and regulations of FDA are settled.
