Energy-saving evaluation of 600,000 tons coal-to-ethylene glycol project
On December 4, the energy-saving report of "the project of adjusting the raw material structure of ammonia synthesis and co-production of 600,000 tons/year ethylene glycol (Phase I)" of Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd. was examined and approved by the Development and Reform Commission of Hubei Province.
It is known that the approval project of the [EDR and Reform and Approval Service][2017]447] mainly rebuilds the original 520,000-ton/year ammonia plant of Sanning Chemical Industry, and simultaneously produces 400,000 tons/year of ethylene glycol and 800,000 tons/year of sulphuric acid. The total annual comprehensive energy consumption of the project is 1.3968 million tons of standard coal. After deducting 89.95 million tons of standard coal from the original unit, the annual increment of comprehensive energy consumption of the project is 497.3 million tons of standard coal.
Hubei Sanning Chemical Company Limited is located in Yaojiagang Chemical Industrial Park, Zhijiang City, Yichang City, Hubei Province, with a total investment of 9.82 billion yuan. The project is based on the synthetic ammonia capacity of 520,000 tons/year of Sanning Urea Plant and Tiantian Company (400,000 tons/year of urea plant and 120,000 tons/year of Tiantian Company). On the premise that the capacity of synthetic ammonia does not increase, energy-saving renovation is carried out, and the existing ammonia hydride units in urea plants and Hetian Company, which adopt atmospheric pressure intermittent fixed bed gasifier, atmospheric pressure desulfurization and high pressure ammonia synthesis, are eliminated.
The new project uses Yankuang coal-water slurry pressurized gasification technology from Shenmu Zhangjiaya Coal Mine and Jincheng Coal Group anthracite as raw materials. Some syngas is converted to H2 and CO by wide-temperature sulfur-resistant transformation, desulfurization and decarbonization, and some syngas is separated by H2/CO to produce 600,000 tons/year ethylene glycol. The other part of syngas is refined by adiabatic + isothermal transformation, low-temperature methanol elution and liquid nitrogen elution. The gas is produced by ammonia synthesis and granular urea process in high tower to produce 520,000 tons/year synthetic ammonia and 520,000 tons/year urea. It is reported that the project is planned to be completed and put into operation in 26 months. In April 2017, Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd. and China Fifth Ring Engineering Co., Ltd. formally signed the design and technical service contract for the project of "structural adjustment of ammonia raw materials and co-production of 600,000 tons/year ethylene glycol".
Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd. was founded in 1970 as the predecessor of Zhijiang County Chemical Fertilizer Plant. In 1993, as a pilot company, it was restructured into a state-owned shareholding company. In 2001, it reformed private enterprises through "two substitutions". In 2007, Shanxi Jincheng Anthracite Coal Mine Group Co., Ltd., a large state-owned enterprise, was holding shares.
