Xinyi Coal Mine of Linkuang Group: Coal by-products become 'hot goods'

"Chief Liu, do you have any waste rock? I need twenty more cars on my side!" Early in the morning, Liu Xuefeng, head of Coal Management Department of Xinyi Coal Mine of Shandong Energy Linming Mining Group, received a call to buy gangue as soon as he arrived at his office. Since the beginning of this year, the mine has made a lot of articles on coal gangue, actively looking for new ways to digest coal gangue, making use of the opportunity of local economic development, so that coal gangue has become a hot commodity, which has been sought after by customers.
Restricted by the environmental protection standards, the problem of waste storage has been restricting the green development of the mine. Last year, only the cost of waste disposal and treatment needed to invest 230,000 yuan per month. In order to eliminate this "heart disease" thoroughly, the Party Committee of the mine actively investigates and explores the market, combines with the local resource situation, makes use of the convenience of local land management and the opportunity of local economic development, coordinates communication with the local government, lets the gangue be used to reclaim land and new building materials industry, opens a new way for gangue sales, not only solves the difficult problem of gangue storage, but also saves the gangue. Stone drainage costs, and has become a new economic growth point of enterprises. Qiu Baodian, director of Xinyi Coal Mine Foreign Assistance Office, said, "In the past, it was 5 yuan for a ton of gangue to be disposed of"out of one's own pocket". Now, the newly signed gangue sales contract has 8 yuan a ton for customers to purchase, and every day they rush to buy out, so the supply exceeds the demand."
Up to now, the mine has digested about 160,000 tons of gangue in the first quarter, earned 128,000 yuan in gangue sales, saved 69,000 yuan in waste disposal and treatment costs, and achieved mutually beneficial and win-win results in economic benefits, environmental protection, energy saving and emission reduction and social benefits.
