Full shutdown for 3 months, 45 days for maintenance...Domestic chemical companies are facing a crisis of production suspension
In addition to the leading companies with the above increase, Dow announced an unexpected reduction in ethylene production. BASF said it will still implement quota allocation for sales in December. LANXESS said that due to the insufficient supply of flame retardant raw materials, the force majeure of PBT flame retardant products still exists, and people are beginning to worry about the supply problem in the chemical industry. In fact, the domestic chemical industry is also facing the crisis of suspension and restriction of production.
Recently, the Office of the People’s Government of Shouguang City issued a notice regarding the suspension of production and restriction of bromine production enterprises in winter. All bromine production enterprises in Shouguang will complete all bromine production enterprises from 8:00 on December 28, 2021 to 8:00 on February 21, 2022. Discontinued.
Due to its advantage in the Bohai Bay, Shandong has become an important source of bromine resources in my country. Shouguang is also a major producer of bromine and brominated flame retardants. There are many well-known brominated flame retardant companies here. Related companies There are more than thirty homes. The current production restriction and shutdown will inevitably have an impact on the brominated flame retardant market.
In addition, the pressure of dual control of energy consumption is still under pressure. Under the continuous effect of power and production restrictions, many major chemical towns such as Jiangsu and Zhejiang are still in a low-load operation state. It will have an impact on the operating rate of local chemical companies and the market inventory of chemical products. In addition, chemical companies such as Wanhua Chemical, Luxi Chemicals, Fujian United, Yangzi BASF and other chemical companies have plans to shut down and overhaul in the near future. Wanhua Chemical will even start a 45-day overhaul from December 11, which is a supply to the industry. Significant impact.
According to industry insiders, prices are rising. On the one hand, overseas high-end raw materials are the manufacturers of these raw materials. These raw materials are leading companies in the industry, with large scale and strong strength. The products are irreplaceable and the price rise is relatively easy. The supply and demand factors are on the contrary. Does not have significant influence. In addition, some domestically rising products are products that are in a monopoly pattern, and the technical barriers of the products are relatively high, making it difficult to enter the market. Under the combined effect of multiple factors such as parking and maintenance, environmental protection issues, and dual energy consumption control, the reduction in operating rates of leading companies will inevitably lead to a further reduction in market inventory, and the impact on prices is also obvious. On the other hand, the products that have plummeted recently in China are mostly products with strong homogeneity and no barriers. There are more companies in the industry with fierce competition, frequent price wars, and low concentration, which makes companies have to cut prices to survive and maintain their foundation. This has formed a scene of "two heavens of ice and fire" in the chemical market.
