According to the company, the price increase is due to the fact that refined pulp, the main raw material of crystalline cellulose, has continued to rise in the past decade. In addition, auxiliary raw materials for crystalline cellulose preparations are also increasing. The company judged that it has been absorbing cost increases since the 2011 price revision with pulp and auxiliary raw materials as the main factor, but it had to announce a price increase because it was beyond the range that the company could digest on its own.

▶ Sun Chemical and Futlin Ink increase the price of printing materials
On January 14, Sun Chemical officially announced that it will increase prices for its entire North American portfolio of packaging, commercial sheet-fed and screen inks, coatings, consumables and adhesives with immediate effect.
Unprecedented rates of inflationary cost changes continue to impact the ink industry's entire range of raw material inputs and packaging components, the company said. In addition, ongoing shortages of available labor, as well as supply and demand dynamics in global and regional logistics markets, are factors driving costs further. SunChemical continues to look for ways to reduce these costs, but the magnitude and speed of the cost increases require the company to raise prices to offset the impact on the business.
Another major ink printing giant, XSYS (Futlin Ink), recently announced that it will increase the price of the nyloflex product line by 6%. The price increase will be implemented from February 1, 2022. The company will increase the price. The reason for this is the increase in the prices of raw materials, transportation and energy.
