China's Foreign Trade was generally stable in the first quarter of this year

The reporter learned from the Ministry of Commerce that on May 24, the General Department of the Ministry of Commerce and the Research Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation jointly issued the Report on China's Foreign Trade Situation (Spring 2019) (hereinafter referred to as the Report). The report reviews the operation of China's foreign trade in 2018 and the first quarter of 2019, and analyses the development environment of China's foreign trade in 2019. In 2018, China's foreign trade has steadily improved, steadily improved, the scale of import and export of goods trade has reached a record high, the quality and efficiency have been further improved, and its contribution to the national economy has been further enhanced. The position of the first largest country in trade in goods and the second largest country in trade in services has been further consolidated, and the process of becoming a powerful trading country has been accelerated. In the first quarter of 2019, China's foreign trade overall remained stable and its structure continued to optimize. According to the report, the current environment for foreign trade development is more complex, more uncertain and more risky challenges. World economic growth has slowed down and trade protectionism continues to heat up. The downward pressure of domestic economy still exists, and some structural problems need to be solved urgently. More efforts are needed to achieve the development goal of quality assurance in foreign trade stability. At the same time, we should also see that the fundamentals of the long-term improvement of China's economy remain unchanged, the endogenous power of foreign trade continues to increase, and the foundation for high-quality development continues to consolidate. Policy effects will continue to emerge as measures to support stable scale, quality improvement and momentum of foreign trade continue to fall.
The report points out that the Ministry of Commerce, in accordance with the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, will continue to firmly implement the foreign trade policy, carry out the plan of action for a strong trading nation, constantly promote the "five optimizations" and "three constructions", diversify the export market, guide the transformation and upgrading of processing trade, transfer to the central and Western regions, optimize the import structure, actively expand imports and carefully manage them. The 2nd China International Import Expo promotes stable quality of foreign trade, welcomes the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with outstanding achievements, and makes new contributions to the success of building a well-off society in an all-round way and achieving the goal of "two hundred years".
