What is Soda ash used for

How is Soda ash produced?

Nowadays, it is obtained through a method known as Solvay by which a reaction of sodium chloride with two components, ammonia and carbon dioxide, is treated. The first phase of the method generates sodium hydrogen carbonate, commonly known as sodium bicarbonate, which is subjected to high temperatures to finally obtain sodium carbonate.
