Axalta Launches New Activator for Corlar 2.1 PR-P Epoxy Primer
Axalta Coating Systems has announced an expansion to its Corlar 2.1 PR-P Epoxy Primer line with the introduction of FG-042 High Build Activator. Ideal for general industrial, construction, fabrication and oil and gas markets, the new activator gives users additional flexibility to achieve higher film builds per coat for extra corrosion protection.
“Axalta is excited to bring the new FG-042 activator to our fast growing Corlar® 2.1 PR-P Epoxy Primer product line,” said Ross Morgan, Axalta Product Manager. “Customers have asked for this additional capability and now users can get higher film builds where that extra bit of corrosion protection is needed.”
Available in multiple colors, Corlar 2.1 PR-P products are highly durable, VOC compliant, two-component, high solid epoxy primers that deliver excellent chemical and corrosion resistance. This product line is recommended for coatings on properly prepared carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
The other activators in the Corlar 2.1 PR-P product line are the FG-040, a standard activator used on steel surfaces and the FG-041, a low viscosity activator designed for use with plural component systems, but with additional melt. The new FG-042 will give a higher film build per coat, therefore doubling the normal films of the other two activators in one coat to get the job done in less time.
