Akzo Nobel Increased Investment in Changzhou Powder Coatings Factory

The world's leading paint and coatings company Akzo Nobel announced that it would invest more in its world's largest Changzhou powder coatings plant. The company plans to invest 3 million to build three new powder coating production lines, including acrylic powder coating, metal powder coating processing and automotive base powder, to strengthen the local production capacity of high-end products. As the largest powder coatings market in the world, China's powder industry responds to the high demand process of green industry development, and the demand continues to expand. However, high-end powder coatings require higher performance. At present, the proportion of domestic production and manufacture depends more on imports. The new powder coatings product line of Akzo Nobel will always adopt Akzo Nobel's advanced production and manufacturing technology to support the needs of local customers with high-quality localized production more effectively.
Akzo Nobel CEO Fan Dirui said: "China is one of the most important markets of Akzo Nobel in the world. The development momentum of powder coatings industry is becoming stronger and stronger. Good market development trend will help us continue to optimize investment strategy and layout. The new powder coating production line will further enhance our supply chain and manufacturing capacity, and strengthen our support to local customers.
"Emerging market trends and customer needs make us deeply aware of the importance of localized production," added Guo Zhenhua, President of Akzo Nobel China and North Asia. "Changzhou Paint Base is of strategic significance to the development of the company's business in China. The new product line will also help us to provide customized solutions for local customers more quickly and create more value for our company and our customers."
Changzhou Paint Base was opened in 2012, and it is one of the most important multi-component paint production bases of Akzo Nobel in China. The base supports the production and processing of liquid coatings and powder coatings by continuously optimizing the supply chain processes of raw materials procurement, distribution and service. The product categories cover decorative coatings, protective coatings and automotive repair coatings. The newly built powder coatings factory in the base was put into operation in 2018. The powder coatings products produced cover the whole industry and radiate the whole East of China.
Akzo Nobel Powder Coatings products supply more than 30,000 customers worldwide, covering household appliances, building materials, automobiles, furniture, IT and industry segments.
