Can Cabbage Soup Diet Lose Weight? Listen to the experts

ECHEMI 2019-07-22

The diet of cabbage soup refers to the short-term weight loss method that insists on eating only cabbage soup and 1 to 2 other foods for 3 to 7 days and drinking only water, tea or coffee. COSMOPOLITAN, an American fashion magazine, points out that this diet does help to lose weight quickly, but it's only a short-term diet with many shortcomings. Let's make a decision after we understand it.

In addition to eating cabbage soup every day, you can eat fruit other than bananas on the first day of your diet. Eat some vegetables the next day, but don't eat fruit. On the third day, fruits and vegetables can be eaten. Fourth day with skim milk and bananas. Eat beef and fresh tomatoes on the fifth day. On the sixth day, chicken can be used instead of beef, and vegetables can be eaten at the same time. On the last day, you can eat starchy foods and add a little rice, vegetables and juice to the soup.

It is said that sticking to the Chinese cabbage soup diet can lose 4 to 7 kilograms of weight a week. But some experts pointed out that while losing weight rapidly, the Chinese cabbage soup diet also has many shortcomings. First, low calorie intake can lead to fatigue and even vertigo. At the same time, due to the lack of protein intake, many people consume muscle rather than fat during the cabbage soup diet. And during this period, the human body will lack magnesium, iron and other essential nutrients intake. Finally, in most cases, body weight will recover immediately after a normal diet. Therefore, the Chinese cabbage soup diet can be used as a short-term weight loss method under special circumstances, but it is not recommended as a long-term weight loss program.
