 Drawbacks of Hydrolysis

 The only cons of hydrolysis of ammonium sulphate are that the hydrogen ions can react with oxygen-producing cancer-causing by-products. Ammonium sulphate should always be stored in an air-tight container to minimize exposure to hydrogen ions.

 Ammonium Sulphate is also a known carcinogen and should be kept away from children, pets, and pregnant women. Moreover, exposure to ammonium sulfate can irritate the eyes, skin, nose, mouth, and throat, especially when used as a cleaning agent or solvent without proper protective equipment.
