100th! Qilu Pharmaceutical's Cefprozil Was Approved For Marketing And Deemed to Have Passed The Consistency Evaluation

ECHEMI 2022-04-19

Recently, Qilu Pharmaceutical's anti-infective drug cefprozil was approved by the State Drug Administration for marketing, and it is deemed to have passed the consistency evaluation. Up to now, a total of 100 products of Qilu Pharmaceutical have passed or deemed to pass the consistency evaluation, of which 42 are the first in China.

Cefprozil is a second-generation cephalosporin with broad-spectrum antibacterial effect. The drug plays an antibacterial effect by binding to the penicillin-binding protein on the bacterial cell membrane, hindering the synthesis of bacterial cell wall and causing bacterial lysis and death. Clinically, it is mainly used for mild and moderate infections of upper respiratory tract, lower respiratory tract, skin and skin and soft tissue caused by sensitive bacteria.

As an oral cephalosporin antibiotic, cefprozil tablet has the advantages of high bioavailability, less influence by food during taking, good safety, etc. It has good antibacterial activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

The field of anti-infection is the key advantage of Qilu Pharmaceutical. The company has a series of cephalosporin products from the first generation to the fourth generation. At the same time, based on a global perspective, it adheres to international standards, such as ceftriaxone, ceftazidime, cefepime, and cefazolin. A cephalosporin aseptic preparation is exported to high-end regulatory markets such as the United States and Europe.
