The Investment Exceeds 1 Billion! Hundreds of Thousands of Tons of Chemical Projects Such As BASF And Huayi Are 'Launched'!

Recently, Tancheng County, Shandong Province held a centralized signing ceremony for the "Double Recruitment and Double Induction" project in the second quarter of 2022. This time, Tancheng County has signed 21 projects in 6 groups, with a total investment of 20.4 billion yuan.

Among them, the 4 projects signed in the second group include the integration project of acrylic acid, acrylic esters and refined acrylic acid. The project was signed by Tancheng Economic Development Zone and Shandong Hongqi Chemical Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 1.046 billion yuan and an area of 280 acres. Mainly build acrylic acid and butyl acrylate / isooctyl acrylate, methyl ethyl acrylate, refined acrylic acid joint integrated production plant. After the project is completed, the annual output will be 160,000 tons of acrylic acid, 140,000 tons of acrylates, and 70,000 tons of refined acrylic acid, with an annual output value of 3.2 billion yuan and a tax revenue of 100 million yuan.

Recently, a number of acrylic and ester projects have been carried out in China. Satellite Chemical, as the big brother in the acrylic acid field, has further expanded the scale of its acrylic acid and ester industry, and Wanhua Chemical is also accelerating new projects; BASF has cooperated with Yangzi Petrochemical to complete and operate a 620,000-ton acrylic acid and ester project. This plan "goes it alone" and deploys new projects; and Guangxi Huayi and Bohai Dongfang Chemical, as "new players" in this field, have also begun to enter the acrylic acid and ester industry one after another.

01 Wanhua Chemical launched another 340,000 tons of acrylic acid and ester

As early as April 8, Wanhua Chemical announced that it plans to invest 23.1 billion to build a high-performance new material integration project in Penglai Industrial Park. It is planned to cover an area of about 3,310 mu, mainly constructing 900,000 tons/year propane dehydrogenation, 500,000 tons/year polyether, 400,000 tons/year POCHP, 300,000 tons/year polypropylene, 300,000 tons/year EO, 300,000 tons/year tons/year EOD, acrylic acid and ester (160,000 tons/year acrylic acid, 160,000 tons/year butyl acrylate, 20,000 tons/year octyl acrylate), 200,000 tons/year carbonate ester, 30,000 tons/year emollient Agents, air separation and other devices, as well as supporting public works and auxiliary facilities, etc.

02 Secondary EIA of BASF's 860,000-ton acrylic acid and ester projects

On March 15, the BASF (Guangdong) integration project conducted the second EIA announcement. The project is constructed by the subsidiary BASF Integrated Base (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. The construction site is located in Donghai Island Petrochemical Industrial Park, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. The total investment of the project is 55.36 billion yuan. It is planned to start construction in the first quarter of 2022 and put into production in 2025.

The construction content includes: 1 million tons/year ethylene combined (CRC) unit, 66/830,000 tons/year ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol (EO/EG) unit, 215,000 tons/year nonionic surfactant (NIS) ) unit, 500,000 tons/year polyethylene unit (PE), 2×190,000 tons/year glacial acrylic acid 1&2 (GAA1&2) unit, 375,000 tons/year butyl acrylate (nBA) unit, 100,000 tons/year acrylic acid Octyl ester (2-EHA) unit, 500,000 tons/year butane-octanol (OXO-C4) unit, 50,000 standard cubic meters/hour synthesis gas unit, 80,000 tons (reduced pure) neopentyl glycol (NPG) unit , 110,000 tons/year methanol plant, 40,000 tons/year citral plant, and supporting public works and auxiliary facilities.

03 Environmental Assessment of Satellite Chemical Acrylic Acid and Ester Technical Transformation Project

On March 1, Pinghu Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Pinghu Petrochemical") conducted an environmental impact assessment on the technical transformation project of butyl acrylate with an annual output of 360,000 tons. Pinghu Petrochemical is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Satellite Chemical. It is mentioned that in order to meet the market demand, the company plans to implement technical transformation for the annual output of 360,000 tons of acrylic acid and 360,000 tons of ester technical transformation project (the second phase project): cancel the 2 sets of 100,000 100,000 units that have been approved in the No. 4 workshop of the second phase device. The construction of a t/a refined acrylic acid production unit (not yet completed) will free up space for a new 360,000 t/a butyl acrylate production unit.

The EIA of this technical transformation project indicates that the company will add 180,000 tons of acrylic acid and 360,000 tons of butyl acrylate production capacity. After all are put into production, satellite chemical acrylic acid and butyl acrylate production capacity will reach 840,000 tons and 980,000 tons respectively. By then, the position of the leading acrylic and ester enterprises will be further consolidated.

04 Guangxi Huayi 400,000 tons of acrylic acid and ester will be put into production soon

Guangxi Huayi New Material 750,000 tons/year propylene and downstream deep processing project with a total investment of 9.09 billion yuan , 300,000 tons/year n-butanol, 100,000 tons/year superabsorbent SAP.

The first phase includes 750,000 tons of PDH, 200,000 tons of acrylic acid, 200,000 tons of butyl acrylate, 300,000 tons of n-butanol and other devices. Construction has started in January 2021 and is planned to be put into operation in 2022; the second phase of the project is planned to be rebuilt 200,000 tons of acrylic acid and 200,000 tons of butyl acrylate and other devices.

05 Dongfang Chemical plans to put 80,000 tons of acrylic acid and ester into production this year

Bohai Dongfang Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Dongfang Chemical") The first phase of the acrylate integration (Bohai New Area) project has started construction, including 40,000 tons of acrylic acid and 40,000 tons of butyl acrylate. It is planned to be put into production in 2022. At the same time, the second phase of the company also plans to 160,000 tons of acrylic acid, 160,000 tons of butyl acrylate and 40,000 tons of methyl acrylate/ethyl acrylate.

It is reported that Dongfang Chemical's Acrylate Integration (Bohai New Area) project has been shortlisted for the list of key construction projects in Hebei Province in 2022. The following is the project specific information.

Project name: 200,000 tons/year acrylic acid and ester integration project of Bohai Dongfang Chemical Co., Ltd.

Total project investment: 2.09 billion yuan.

Construction scale: The first phase of the project: the main devices include 40,000 tons/year of acrylic acid, 24,000 tons/year of high-purity acid, 40,000 tons/year of butyl acrylate and supporting ancillary facilities. The second phase of the project: 160,000 tons/year of acrylic acid, 200,000 tons/year of acrylic esters, 30,000 tons/year of super absorbent resin (SAP), 300,000 tons/year of acrylic water-based emulsion and supporting ancillary facilities, etc. The annual operating time of the device is calculated as 8000 hours.

Features and characteristics of the project: The project adopts a two-step air oxidation process and a fixed bed reactor. The unit consumption and energy consumption of propylene are the lowest in the industry, and the product quality is the best, reaching the international advanced level.

Expected benefits: The estimated income of the first phase is 91.16 million yuan, the estimated income of the second phase and the water emulsion is 576 million yuan, and the total estimated income is 667 million yuan.
