Wantai Bio's Bivalent HPV Vaccine Receives Marketing Approval in Morocco
On May 12, Wantai Bio announced that the bivalent HPV vaccine was approved for marketing in Morocco. It is worth mentioning that this approval is the first overseas marketing license for Wantai Bio’s bivalent HPV vaccine.
In 2021, Wantai Bio's bivalent HPV vaccine sales revenue will be 3.24 billion yuan, accounting for 56.34% of the total revenue. In addition, Wantai Bio has invested approximately RMB 344 million (unaudited) in the research and development of bivalent HPV vaccines.
Wantai Bio's bivalent HPV vaccine was approved by the State Food and Drug Administration for drug registration approval on December 30, 2019, and was officially launched in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) in May 2020. It is the first, The fourth product in the world to prevent cervical cancer.
The drug is mainly indicated for women aged 9-45 years, for the prevention of cervical cancer, grade 2 and 3 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN2/3) and cervical cancer caused by high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18 Adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS), grade 1 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN1), and persistent infection by HPV types 16 and 18.
The cervical cancer vaccines that have been approved for sale in China mainly include the bivalent cervical cancer vaccine of GlaxoSmithKline, the quadrivalent and 9-valent cervical cancer vaccine of Merck and the bivalent cervical cancer vaccine of Yunnan Watson Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
