BASF's Industry 4.0 breakthrough in China
On May 10, BASF announced that it will join hands with Xinpu Chemical to realize the first successful application of StyroSim, an Industry 4.0 solution, in a styrene plant in China.
According to reports, StyroSim adopts digital means of big data analysis technology, which is interactive and easy to operate, helping to increase the production capacity of styrene. The software has successfully implemented functions such as operating condition simulation optimization, big data analysis, and system automatic data transmission on the styrene plant of Xinpu Chemical, effectively improving the efficiency of production, operation and maintenance. The device can independently use the simulator to adjust the operating conditions under different production goals, thereby greatly reducing the probability of trial and error based on personal experience, and realizing precise adjustment of the working conditions. In addition, StyroSim covers the automatic online transmission of data, which optimizes the tedious process required for data analysis in the past and improves the timeliness of data. The operating data and analysis data of the product are encrypted and automatically pushed to the BASF server, which facilitates real-time monitoring of catalyst performance. The data push mechanism and security verification measures also ensure the security of client device data. At the same time, StyroSim also has an online interaction function, which is convenient for both parties to communicate in a timely manner.
Li Jian, Manager of Styrene Plant of Xinpu Chemical, said: "StyroSim has been running for three months. It has greatly improved work efficiency while improving the accuracy of operation. I believe that the long-term benefits brought by this digital solution will help us to improve It is a good response to today's volatile market environment."
Dr. Wei Guohui, Global Vice President of Chemical Catalysts at BASF, pointed out: "The innovative solution of StyroSim has been successfully implemented in China. Combining digitalization with technical expertise, it will help more local customers to maximize economic benefits. We look forward to the expansion of this solution. to other products and create broader value for customers.”
