Dow Introduces Optical Silicone Solutions
On May 11th, Dow released the brand-new Sineite MS-5002 Injection Moldable Optical Silicone. According to the company, this special liquid silicone rubber material can be used in the light pipes of automotive adaptive high beam systems to create high-quality optical performance while significantly speeding up the production process with excellent mold anti-fouling ability. cycle and improve production efficiency.
Mark Bradford, head of Dow's global lighting business, said that the launch of Sineite's MS-5002 injection-molded optical silicone further enriches Dow's product portfolio and provides the design and manufacture of light guides for adaptive high beam systems. It provides a more comprehensive choice to help achieve the sustainable development goals of the automotive industry. The new Cinetech MS-5002 injection-moulded optical silicone can increase the output, and the production cycle frequency can be increased by 4 times before cleaning the mold compared to the existing product.
As adaptive high beam systems accelerate into mass production, optical matrix lens manufacturers are looking for solutions to produce high-quality lighting accessories with higher yields and fewer preventative maintenance. These injection-molded parts often have simple geometries and are better suited for efficient production processes, and this new material from Dow is specifically designed and developed for such parts.
