On September 11, 2019, the BDI index closed at 2366, down 27 points, or 1.13%, from the previous trading day. The index measures transportation costs of resources such as iron ore, cement, grain, coal and fertilizer. The Baltic Cape Ship Price Index (BCI) fell 68 points, or 1.42%, to 4726. Average daily profit fell by $481 to $35183. The normal carrying capacity of this type of ship is 150,000 tons. The Baltic Panamanian Shipping Price Index (BPI) fell 17 points, or 0.79%, to 2144. Average daily profit fell by $144 to $17,171. The normal carrying capacity of this type of ship is 6-7 tons.
