In August, the added value of industries above scale increased by 4.4%

According to the statistics bureau's website on September 16, in August 2019, the value-added of industries above scale grew by 4.4% year-on-year (the following growth rates are the real growth rates excluding price factors), down 0.4 percentage points from July. From a ring-to-ring perspective, in August, the value-added of industries above scale increased by 0.32% over the previous month. From January to August, the added value of industries above scale increased by 5.6% year on year.
It can be divided into three categories: in August, the value-added of mining industry increased by 3.7% year-on-year, and the growth rate dropped by 2.9 percentage points compared with July; in manufacturing industry, it increased by 4.3% and fell by 0.2 percentage points; in electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply, it increased by 5.9% and fell by 1.0 percentage points. In terms of economic types, in August, the added value of state-owned holding enterprises increased by 4.1% year-on-year; that of joint-stock enterprises by 5.3%, that of foreign and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-invested enterprises by 1.3%, and that of private enterprises by 6.0%. In August, 32 of the 41 major industries maintained year-on-year growth in value added. The added value of agricultural and sideline food processing industry was the same as in the same month of last year. The textile industry grew by 0.1%, the chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry by 1.2%, the non-metallic mineral products industry by 8.1%, the ferrous metal smelting and calendering industry by 10.4%, the non-ferrous metal smelting and calendering industry by 8.5%, and the general equipment manufacturing industry by 8.5% compared with the same month of last year. The special equipment manufacturing industry grew by 3.3%, the automobile manufacturing industry by 4.3%, the railway, ship, aerospace and other transport equipment manufacturing industry by 7.8%, the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry by 10.0%, the computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry by 4.7%, and the power, thermal production and supply industry by 5.1%. In August, the value added of the eastern region increased by 2.8%, that of the central region by 6.5%, that of the western region by 5.3%, and that of the northeastern region by 3.0%.
According to the sub-products, 302 of 605 products increased year-on-year in August. Steel 106.39 million tons, an increase of 9.8%; cement 21.18 million tons, an increase of 5.1%; 10 non-ferrous metals 4.91 million tons, an increase of 4.4%; ethylene 16.5 million tons, an increase of 1.8%; automobiles 2 million, a decrease of 0.6%, of which cars 809,000, a decrease of 7.3%; new energy vehicles 100,000, an increase of 9.9%; power generation 66.82 billion kWh Crude oil processing capacity was 54 million tons, an increase of 6.9%.
In August, the sales rate of industrial enterprises was 98.3%, which was 0.3 percentage points lower than that of the same period last year. Industrial enterprises realized export delivery value of 1046.4 billion yuan, down 4.3% in nominal terms over the same period of last year.
