Avante Introduces New Thermoplastic Elastomers
Evante announced the launch of a new line of Versaflex thermoplastic elastomer materials. It is reported that as a substitute for silicone rubber, the Versaflex material, which is specially developed to meet the European and North American regulatory system on the migration test standards of oily food contact products, can be directly injection-molded and coated on a variety of engineering materials without the need for secondary The processing procedure not only satisfies the freedom of product design but also improves the production efficiency.
Compared with silicone rubber, the only competitive material in this type of application, Versaflex FFC is easier to process, simplifies the production process and shortens cycle time, which can potentially reduce the overall cost. In addition, Versaflex FFC helps solve global silicone rubber supply chain challenges, allowing design engineers to bring new products to market faster. Xu Tao said: "Avante's product development efforts are dedicated to helping customers comply with food contact application regulations, but compliance does not depend only on suitable polymer formulations, but also on finished product design. For example, thickness can affect migration test results. Thicker sections have a higher chance of failure. Avante's expertise is not only in formulation development, but also in helping customers optimize product designs and improve the likelihood of compliance of the final product, resulting in faster time to market."
Versaflex FFC can be directly overmolded with COPE, PC or PC/ABS, making it suitable for a wide range of food contact applications such as food containers, kitchenware, kitchen appliances, tableware and more. It does not contain BPA or phthalates and can be colored according to specific market needs. Versaflex FFC materials are currently produced in Asia and available worldwide.
