Beauty Chef, an Australian beauty supplement brand, announced recently that it had financed $10 million. Beauty Chef, an Australian beauty supplement brand, announced recently that it had completed a $10 million financing round from Point King Capital, an Australian investment fund.
was founded by Carla Oates, former beauty editor. Beauty Chef provides Glow Inner Beauty Powder, Antioxidant Inner Beauty Boost, Gut Primer Inner Beauty Support, Probiotic Skin Refiner and other products. These products are not only sold through official websites, but also on Sephora (Sephora), Goop, Net-a-porter, Selfridges, Space and online zero. The seller sells it. Carla Oates has been suffering from skin problems for many years before adjusting her diet. She began experimenting with lactoferrin in her kitchen, such as kimchi, and eventually started her own brand. "I had eczema before, and I know skin care is a job from the inside out."
Carla Oates collaborates with scientists, microbiologists, physiotherapists and nutritionists to develop products. "We agree that diet, as part of our lifestyle, has a great impact on human microflora." With the further penetration of health trend, edible cosmetic products have become more and more accepted by consumers in recent years. Carla Oates points out that Beauty Chef has maintained rapid and organic growth over the past three years. According to industry insiders, Beauty Chef currently has net sales of about $15 million.
This round of financing will help Beauty Chef expand faster. Specific plans include: expanding sales to global markets, especially in Asia.
"We have great enthusiasm for microbial research, not only intestinal microflora, but also skin microflora." Carla Oates revealed that Beauty Chef has been developing skin care products for the past three years, but "it takes time to ensure that they are organic, effective and scientifically based."
Beauty Chef also hired Laurence Crussol, a senior executive in the cosmetics industry, as COO, who was previously the global acting CEO of Jurlique, an Australian organic skin care brand. Carla Oates said Laurence Crussol's involvement allowed him to focus better on creative directions, product development and other fields. In the future, Beauty Chef will further expand its sales team. "Education is an extremely important part of our brand, because there is so much knowledge about intestinal microflora, how products work and how they work," explains Carla Oates.
Co-founded by Sam McKay and Harvey Carter, Point King Capital has offices in Sydney and San Francisco, focusing on consumer goods and financial services and providing long-term growth investment for investors. The current portfolio includes Beauty Chef and AUrate, the Internet premium jewelry brand in New York.
