The price of basic melon and vegetable in Haikou fell by 2.8 yuan per kilogram, 3.7 yuan per kilogram of tomatoes and 3.2 yuan per kilogram of hollow vegetable during the National Day On Oct. 7, a clear price tag of Dongmen Agricultural Market in Haikou clearly showed the vegetable price of that day. On the same day, a reporter from Hainan Daily learned during a visit to a number of agricultural markets in Haikou that during the National Day holiday, the merchants of Haikou agricultural market generally implemented the proposed price, and the price of vegetables fell instead of rising.

"Today's hollow cabbage is 30 cents lower than before the festival, and spareribs are 10 yuan cheaper than before the festival." In the morning, Tan Li, a Haikou citizen who is buying vegetables at Dongmen Market, said happily that she was worried about the rising price of vegetables on holidays before, but she enjoyed a real discount on the National Day holiday. At Meiyuan Agricultural Market in Meilan District, Chen Jun, a citizen, also felt the decline in vegetable prices. "Before the festival, the price of melon leaves per kilogram is about 3.5 yuan. During the National Day holiday, the market keeps around 2.8 yuan per kilogram every day." In Meiyuan agricultural trade market, the price of other 17 basic vegetables generally decreased by about 15% compared with that before the festival.

It is understood that the decline in vegetable prices is due to a measure: before National Day, 60 farmers, farmers'markets, supermarkets, wholesale markets, vegetable, pork production and marketing enterprises and individual operators in Haikou jointly launched an initiative to implement the initiative price of vegetable. During the National Day period (September 30 to October 8), the prices of 17 basic melons, vegetables and pork, such as cabbage, cabbage, sweet potato leaves, generally fell by 15% to 20%. During the festival period, governments at all levels in Haikou also intensified efforts to maintain supply and price stability. In order to ensure the stable price of pork, Qiongshan District rewarded the farmers'market where the price of the initiative was in place, and gave the pork stalls not less than 100 yuan per head of the incentive subsidy. The whole district subsidizes pork stalls by 43,000 yuan a day, totaling 300,000 yuan in 7 days. There are 42 residential districts with more than 500 households in this area, and 37 outlets of par vegetable have been stationed.

In Meilan District, the business bureau, the price bureau, the comprehensive administration bureau, the District Street office and other relevant units form a joint inspection team to conduct joint inspection of the agricultural and trade markets in the district during the festival period, so as to prevent the occurrence of price hikes. It is understood that during the festival period, Haikou continued to increase the supply of various vegetables and pork. On October 7, the supply of live pigs increased to 113 pigs in Haikou. In order to ensure adequate supply of melons and vegetables for Haikou National Day holidays, the Haikou Joint Conference Office of Vegetable Basket Construction also issued the "Haikou National Day Transport Vehicle Transport Cost Subsidy Scheme for Island Melons and Vegetables (Trial)", from 0:00 on October 1 to 24:00 on October 7, wholesalers of melons and vegetables transported from outside the island and sold in Haikou were given full subsidies for sea-crossing expenses.
