Kubota to Acquire All Shares in Brabender
Kubota Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Kubota") will acquire all shares of Brabender Technologie GmbH & Co.KG (hereinafter referred to as "Brabender"), a global manufacturer of loss-in-weight feeders for continuous According to the information, Kubota will make it a wholly-owned subsidiary through its European holding subsidiary Kubota Holdings Europe B.V.
The acquisition will create synergies by integrating Kubota's loss-in-weight feeder strengths in the Asian market with the technology and sales network of Brabenda, which has strengths in the European and US markets and is growing its business globally.
As part of the same group, Kubota and Brabender will further expand their business in the loss-in-weight feeder market, which is expected to witness growth in various segments owing to the global shift in manufacturing processes towards automation.
Background and Purpose
The loss-in-weight feeder is used to continuously and accurately feed different materials such as powders, granules, and liquids into the production process of various industries such as plastics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food. Real-time control of material supply by weight enables reliable, high-precision dispensing of multiple materials to meet demanding quality and reliability requirements.
Kubota manufactures and sells gravimetric feeders mainly used in the production process of resin products in Japan, China, Korea and other parts of Asia, and has a high market share in the region. Kubota aims to expand its service and sales areas to pharmaceuticals and battery materials for further business growth.
At the same time, Brabenda takes advantage of its advantages in the European and American markets to conduct business on a global scale. It has become one of the best-selling loss-in-weight feeder brands in the world. Brabender not only has advanced technical capabilities, but also has expertise in handling a wide range of materials, with products ranging from resins and pharmaceuticals to batteries and food.
Kubota is expanding its business based on a long-term vision aimed at solving the challenges that hinder a carbon neutral and circular economy. To achieve these goals, the production of many of the materials used in batteries that contribute to carbon neutrality, as well as plastics and other recycled materials in the circular economy, requires mixing large quantities of materials. The use of high performance loss-in-weight feeders is expected to provide reliable and high-precision material feeding, consistent with the various properties of the material.
Kubota will drive synergies through the acquisition of Brabender as a wholly-owned subsidiary to further expand the business and offer a wider range of products and sales and service networks. Kubota and Brabender will also leverage each other's superior technical capabilities and extensive expertise in handling bulk materials and liquids to advance the joint development of the next generation of loss-in-weight feeders.
