China's digital economy reaches 31.3 trillion yuan

The blue books of world Internet development report 2019 and China Internet development report 2019 were released at the 6th World Internet Conference on the 20th. China Internet development report 2019 points out that in 2018, the scale of China's digital economy reached 31.3 trillion yuan, accounting for 34.8% of GDP, and the digital economy has become a new engine of China's economic growth. According to China Internet development report 2019, as of June 2019, the number of Internet users in China is 854 million, and the Internet penetration rate is 61.2%. The number of optical fiber access users reached 396 million, ranking first in the world.
The blue book is led by China Academy of cyberspace and closely follows the hot issues of Internet development. It covers key fields such as information infrastructure, network information technology, digital economy, digital government and e-government, Internet media, network security, construction of rule of law in cyberspace, international governance in cyberspace, etc. According to Feng Mingliang, deputy director of the policy and Regulation Bureau of the central network information office, the blue book focuses on 5g development. As of June 2019, 280 operators in 94 countries have carried out 5g test and test. China officially issued 5g commercial license on June 6, 2019, and the construction of digital infrastructure represented by 5g and IPv6 is steadily advancing. According to the assessment of China Internet development report 2019, Beijing, Guangdong, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu have the highest Internet development level, ranking in the top five in terms of comprehensive development; the central and western regions are also stepping up their development efforts, with a strong momentum of development.
