Wu Chungeng, spokesman of the Ministry of transport and director of the policy research office, introduced that in the first three quarters, the economic operation of transport continued the overall stable and steady development trend since the first half of the year. The investment scale remained at a high level, the cargo volume and port cargo throughput increased rapidly, the transport structure continued to be optimized, and the main indicators remained at Reasonable interval. The investment scale of transportation fixed assets keeps high. In the first three quarters, the investment in fixed assets of transportation reached 2291.8 billion yuan, up 2.2% year on year. Among them, 1671.3 billion yuan was invested in roads and waterways, an increase of 3.5%, 92.9% of the annual target was completed, and the progress was accelerated by 1.1 percentage points year on year. The passenger transport structure is constantly optimized. In the first three quarters, 13.34 billion business passengers were transported, down 1.6% year on year. In terms of modes, the passenger traffic volume of railway and civil aviation has maintained rapid growth. Passenger car travel continued to flourish, with the passenger car traffic of Expressway increasing by 8.5% year on year. 36 central cities completed 50.04 billion public transport passengers, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%, of which rail transit passenger traffic increased by 13.0%.

 

The freight volume increased steadily and rapidly. In the first three quarters, 38.9 billion tons of business freight were completed, up 5.9% year on year. Among them, the freight volume of highway and waterway increased by 5.7% and 6.7% respectively, maintaining a fast growth range. The cargo throughput of the port increased steadily. In the first three quarters, China's port throughput reached 10.3 billion tons, up 5.2% year on year, with domestic and foreign trade increasing by 5.8% and 4.0% respectively. The container throughput reached 195 million TEUs, an increase of 4.8%. According to Wu Chungeng, the economic operation of transportation industry in the first three quarters presented many highlights. In terms of major project construction, Beijing Daxing International Airport was officially put into operation and completed the task target of 1 million kilometers of newly reconstructed rural roads during the 13th five year plan in advance. In terms of transportation structure adjustment, travel and logistics are further converging to high-speed rail, civil aviation, expressways, urban rail transit and other convenient, efficient and comfortable modes of travel, "public to rail" and "public to water" are advancing in an orderly manner, with freight volume of railway and waterway increasing 180 million tons and 340 million tons respectively year on year. In terms of service level improvement, the logistics cost was reduced by 57 billion yuan in the first three quarters.
