More than 240 billion cubic meters of gas are supplied to the West

On October 21, the reporter learned from PetroChina Tarim oil field that up to now, as the main gas source of west east gas transmission, Tarim oil field has supplied more than 240 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the downstream, providing guarantee for the gas consumption of about 400 million residents and more than 3000 enterprises in 15 provinces and more than 120 large and medium-sized cities in the downstream. In 2004, the west east gas transmission project was completed and put into operation, and China ushered in the "natural gas era". In the past 15 years, the gas transmission capacity of the west east gas pipeline in Tarim Oilfield has increased from 351 million cubic meters per year at the beginning to 25 billion cubic meters per year, with an average of 63.4 million cubic meters per day. Located in Tarim Basin, Tarim Oilfield is considered to be one of the most difficult areas for oil and gas exploration in the world. In recent years, in the face of the increasing demand for natural gas all over the country, Tarim Oilfield has been accelerating the pace of exploration and development of natural gas resources, consolidating the resource base; scientific development, optimization of production methods; accelerating the construction of new area production capacity, promoting the high and stable production of old area, and promoting the steady increase of natural gas production. At the same time, we will try to ease the shortage of natural gas supply and ensure the stability of the market by promoting the interconnection of pipeline networks and other measures. Tarim Oilfield is the third largest onshore oil and gas field in China. At present, many large-scale gas fields have been built in Tarim Oilfield, such as Kela 2, Dina 2, Keshen, Yingmaili, Yaha, etc., with natural gas production accounting for one sixth of the total national production. At the same time, the 3717.554 km long natural gas pipeline network is also spreading in Tarim Basin. In 2013, the South Xinjiang natural gas benefiting people project was put into operation. At present, the average daily gas supply has reached 4.5 million cubic meters.
