In October, South Korea's cosmetics export is expected to reach 2.97bn yuan

South Korean cosmetics exports to China accounted for 50.5% of the total, up 14.8% year-on-year, while Hong Kong and the United States accounted for 31.3% and 6.7% respectively, down 28.3% and 21.4% year-on-year. Under the situation that the overall export of cosmetics in South Korea is shrinking, the export of cosmetics in South Korea continues to grow negatively, and the industry in South Korea calls for a positive response. Lee seonhwa, researcher of Eugene investment securities, according to the data of trass export from October 1 to 20, the provisional value of cosmetics export in October was $452.36 million, a year-on-year decrease of 1.1%. Exports of cosmetics from South Korea to China accounted for 50.5% of the total, up 14.8% year-on-year. Hong Kong and the United States accounted for 31.3% and 6.7% respectively, down 28.3% and 21.4% year-on-year. In October, the tentative value of skin care exports was $418.8 million, down 0.9% year on year. South Korea's skin care products exports to China and Japan increased by 13.9% and 14.1% respectively, while Hong Kong and the United States decreased by 27.2% and 18.4% respectively. In October, the provisional value of South Korea's cosmetics exports was US $32.38 million, down 3.5% year on year. Exports to China increased by 43.6% year-on-year, showing a trend of improvement. On the contrary, exports to the United States decreased by 33.5% year-on-year, and remained depressed. In particular, exports to Japan increased by 82.2% year-on-year, continuing to improve, and surpassing the United States as the second largest cosmetics export target country of South Korea.
In 10 months, the provisional export value of mask products was 49 million 440 thousand US dollars, down 32% compared with the same period last year. For mainland China and Hongkong, they decreased by 23.6% and 51.8% respectively compared with the same period. The export of China's mask exports continued to decline, and exports to the United States and Japan also decreased by 47.6% and 0.6% respectively.
Mask exports began to decline sharply in December last year, and there has been a negative growth for 11 consecutive months. Researcher Lee seonhwa said, "after the improvement of cosmetics export in October from September, due to the exhaustion of inventory, the cosmetics export shrank a little bit. With China's continuous sales for the double 11, the growth trend slowed down. In addition to the impact of Hong Kong demonstrations and the reduction of Chinese tourists, k-beauty's brand power in the United States also weakened."
