The global ink additive market will reach US $2 billion by 2023
According to a Market Research Report of ink additive market types, processes, technologies, applications and regions - Global Forecast to 2023, the global ink additive market is expected to reach 2 billion US dollars in 2023, and the compound annual growth rate is expected to reach 5.2% from 2018 to 2023. The growth of the global ink additive industry is due to increased application, technological progress and growing demand from the Asia Pacific region (mainly China, Japan, India and other Southeast Asian countries). The rapid urbanization, the increase of disposable income, and the increasing consumer preference for simple and compact packaging are the most potential reasons for the growth of ink additives in packaging. The cost of the whole value chain is a major problem in the ink additive market. Dispersant and wetting agent help to stabilize the suspension state of pigment in varnish. It helps to disperse fine solid particles in the liquid phase. Pigment dispersants prevent agglomeration by weakening intermolecular forces. In order to achieve the full strength and maximum gloss of the color, the pigment must be evenly distributed. Well distributed pigments help to increase shelf-life stability and reduce varnishes that tend to flocculate or agglomerate. The additives used in solvent based technology are much less than those used in water-based and UV based technology. Although many solvent based inks are being phased out, some companies are still using them due to the low cost in the whole ink production process. There are many factors influencing the overall demand of packaging industry in Asia Pacific region. With the growth of beverage industry such as soda, soft drinks, tea and coffee consumption, the demand for packaging of meat and seafood and other foods is also increasing. In addition, the growing demand for corrugated packaging is also affected by the rapid expansion of the electronic retail industry, which is also a major factor in promoting the development of the ink additive Market in the Asia Pacific region.
