Sinopec started the construction of West Sichuan gas field
On December 16, it was learned from Sinopec southwest oil and gas company that Sinopec Group recently held a kick-off meeting for surface engineering construction of West Sichuan gas field, which started the construction of West Sichuan gas field, striving to build an annual production capacity of 3.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas. This is another super large high sour gas field after Puguang gas field and Yuanba gas field, which will further consolidate Sinopec's position in the development and construction of super large sour gas field. The West Sichuan gas field is mainly located in Pengzhou, Chengdu. The main gas reservoir is Leikoupo Formation, with an area of 1982 square kilometers. In 2014, Western Sichuan gas field was discovered by Sinopec southwest oil and gas company, with controlled reserves of 129.3 billion cubic meters and proved reserves of 30.9 billion cubic meters. The construction of West Sichuan gas field mainly includes drilling and completion engineering and surface engineering. In terms of drilling and completion engineering, 29 new wells of 6 platforms will be deployed; in terms of surface engineering, 6 desulfurization stations and 1 gathering station will be built, and 58 km gas transmission pipeline and system supporting engineering will be built. Since this year, Sinopec has comprehensively summed up the successful experience of Yuanba gas field construction, and applied a series of innovative technologies, high quality and high standard to advance the preliminary preparation work for the construction of West Sichuan gas field. At present, PetroChina Southwest Oil and gas company has completed the administrative licensing procedures such as environmental impact assessment and water and soil conservation assessment for the construction of West Sichuan gas field, and is qualified for commencement.
