How to find out registered pesticide list in Ecuador
Pesticide registration and regulation in Ecuador is under the responsibility of the AGROCALIDAD department, which regulates and controls animal health and welfare in primary production, plant health and food safety, in order to maintain and improve phytosanitary and animal health conditions in agricultural production.
Step 1.
Open the home page of the AGROCALIDAD department's website
https://www.agrocalidad.gob.ec/

Once you've clicked in, scroll down and find Direccion de Registro deInsumos Agricolas
Step 2.
Once you click into Dirección de Registro deInsumos Agricolas, you can see entries about pesticide company registration, pesticide registration, sales, etc., and also content related to fertilizer registration.

Step 3.
Click on Pesticide Product Registration and you can see under the expanded menu items about regulations, registration requirements, registration database, etc.

Step 4.
Scroll down to find the Base de datos de productos plaguicidas , where you can see links to registered pesticides, banned uses, pesticides for minor crops, etc. Click on them to download the files.

The registered pesticides currently available for download were updated on 22 February 2022. The document lists the registration number, date of registration, company name, active ingredient and content, crop used, manufacturer and other information.

The downloaded pesticide registration for minor crops is similar and the document is currently updated on 19 January 2021.

The ban document lists the names of the pesticides that have been banned in the past, the most recent ban being in 2019 for both Carbendazim and Benomyl.
