The French branch of beauty e-commerce birchbox ordered by month is independent
After the completion of the transaction, birchbox France will become an independent company and change its registered trademark within the next few weeks. The new company name has not been determined. Birchbox France, a French subsidiary of birchbox, a U.S. subscription beauty e-commerce company, announced on Wednesday that its two co founders, Quentin reygrobellet and Martin balas, have acquired all shares of birchbox France in partnership with OTIUM capital, an investment fund owned by Pierre Edouard Sterlin, a French business tycoon and the founder of SMARTBOX Right, the transaction price has not been announced. Founded in 2010, nbspbirchbox is headquartered in the United States. In 2011, they expanded their business to the French market, and in 2012, they merged with joliebox, a local e-commerce that orders beauty products on time, and founded birchbox France. As mentioned above, Quentin reygrobellet and Martin balas are the co founders of joliebox, currently serving as the CEO and COO of birchbox France respectively.
After the completion of the transaction, birchbox France will become an independent company and change its registered trademark within the next few weeks. The new company name has not been determined. Birchbox France will still be entitled to use birchbox's trademark in France for the next 18 months. According to the two founders, the acquisition will speed up the expansion of the company, and use birchbox France's customer database to provide customers with more personalized customized services, while expanding the number of cooperative brands (currently about 300). The company also announced that it will launch a data analysis platform called "birchbox Analytics" to enable cooperative brands to collect and analyze user data and receive feedback from consumers in real time, so as to improve brand performance. Birchbox France has more than 220000 regular subscribers and 60 employees. In 2019, the sales increased by 20% year on year. 60% of the sales came from its scheduled ordering business and 40% from online retail channels. Since 2016, it has made profits. Birchbox, the parent company of nbspbirchbox France, has developed rapidly since its establishment in 2010. It has carried out a number of financing, expanded rapidly, and began to expand to the field of real retail. The company's valuation once reached 500 million US dollars, but it can't get out of the loss. Under pressure from venture capital shareholders, birchbox was forced to abandon plans for physical retail expansion and lay off workers. In 2015, private equity fund Viking global investments acquired birchbox for a mere $15 million after months of negotiations.
