Bureau of Statistics: in January 2020, consumer prices rose 5.4% year on year
In January 2020, the national consumer price rose 5.4% year on year. Among them, 5.1% in urban areas, 6.3% in rural areas, 20.6% in food prices, 1.6% in non food prices, 7.7% in consumer goods prices and 1.5% in service prices. In January, consumer prices rose 1.4% month on month. Among them, 1.4% in urban areas, 1.4% in rural areas, 4.4% in food prices, 0.6% in non food prices, 1.6% in consumer goods prices and 1.0% in service prices.
In January, the price of food, tobacco and alcohol rose 15.2% year-on-year, affecting CPI (consumer price index) to rise by about 4.52%. In food, the price of animal meat rose by 76.7%, affecting CPI by about 3.38%, of which pork price rose by 116.0%, affecting CPI by about 2.76%; fresh vegetable price rose by 17.1%, affecting CPI by about 0.45%; aquatic product price rose by 3.8%, affecting CPI by about 0.07%; egg price rose by 2.4%, affecting CPI by about 0.02%; food price Georgia rose by 0.5%, affecting CPI by about 0.01%; fresh fruit price dropped by 5.0%, affecting CPI by about 0.09%. All the other seven categories of prices rose year on year. Among them, the prices of other goods and services, health care, education, culture and entertainment rose by 4.8%, 2.3% and 2.2% respectively, the prices of transportation, communication and clothing rose by 0.9% and 0.6% respectively, and the prices of residential and household goods and services rose by 0.5% and 0.2% respectively.
In January, the price of food, tobacco and alcohol rose 3.1% on a month on month basis, affecting CPI growth of about 1.01%. In food, the price of fresh vegetables increased by 15.3%, affecting CPI by about 0.39%; the price of livestock meat increased by 6.1%, affecting CPI by about 0.43%, of which pork price increased by 8.5%, affecting CPI by about 0.39%; fresh fruit price increased by 5.5%, affecting CPI by about 0.09%; aquatic product price increased by 4.5%, affecting CPI by about 0.08%; egg price The CPI decreased by 3.2%, affecting about 0.02 percentage points. Other seven categories of prices rose, leveled and fell on a month on month basis. Among them, the prices of other goods and services increased by 1.8%, transportation, communication, education, culture and entertainment increased by 1.4%, medical care, daily necessities and services increased by 0.6% and 0.2% respectively; residential prices were flat; clothing prices decreased by 0.5%.
