BASF announces another plant in China
BASF recently announced the commissioning of its multifunctional fuel additive production facility in Shanghai to meet the growing demand for fuel additives in the Asian market and to provide local customers with enhanced supply chain security and greater flexibility.
The new production facility, located in BASF's Shanghai Pudong Science and Innovation Park, is said to be the latest addition to BASF's global fuel additive production network and strengthens BASF's local production footprint in Asia.
BASF's KEROPUR® range of high-efficiency fuel additives has a strong reputation in the market for maximizing engine cleanliness, improving fuel economy and reducing emissions.
BASF said the fuel additive market in Asia is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of more than 4 percent through 2032 as the use of multifunctional fuel additives continues to grow in the Asian market and consumer interest in cleaner, more efficient products grows.
In addition to the latest installation in Shanghai, the BASF Zhanjiang integration site project, with a total investment of approximately 10 billion euros (by 2030), is the largest single investment project in the history of the BASF Group. Upon completion of the project, Zhanjiang, Guangdong will become BASF Group's third largest integrated production site in the world, after Ludwigshafen, Germany and Antwerp, Belgium.
