Longsheng promotes PA6 for electric vehicles

Lanson announced that it will replace polyamide 66 (PA66) with polyamide 6 (PA6) in electric vehicles. Longsheng believes that this will become a trend.

Bernhard Helbich, Technical Key Account Manager of Langsheng High Performance Materials Business Department, said that the large-scale application of PA6 shows that PA6 mixture can be used in the cooling system of electric vehicles together with glycol water coolant without hydrolysis stability. PA6 products will be widely used in electric vehicle covers and other thermal management components in the future.

Langsheng explained that for a long time, the plastic parts in the cooling circuit of the internal combustion engine have been made of PA66, because PA66 is highly resistant to hot coolant. For electric vehicles, PA6 is sufficient to meet the requirements of thermal coolant, and can even cope with the situation where the action time is significantly extended. PA6 has high strength and stiffness, which can ensure that the electric vehicle cover plate meets strict sealing requirements.
