Paracoccidioidomycosis
The pathogen of Paracoccidioidomycosis is called Brazilian or South American blastomycosis. It is a progressive fungal disease of the skin, mucous membranes, lymph nodes and internal organs caused by Paracoccidioidomycosis Braziliani. Although paracoccidioidomycosis is not a very common opportunistic infection, it sometimes occurs in immunocompromised patients, including AIDS patients. The specific location of Brazilian Paracoccidioidomycosis in nature is still unclear. It is speculated that it exists in the soil in the form of fungi, and the human body is infected by inhaling spores. The spores are transformed into invasive yeasts at 37°C in the lungs and can spread to other parts through the bloodstream and lymph. The disease is prevalent in Latin America, especially Brazil, followed by Argentina, Peru and Venezuela. Patients are particularly common in coffee workers in Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil. Most of them are aged between 20 and 30 years old, and are more common in men. No reports have been seen in my country.
