Menstrual asthma
Menstrual asthma refers to the phenomenon that asthma symptoms in women with asthma are related to their menstrual cycle, and worsen before or during menstruation. Generally, women of childbearing age have a clear tendency to have asthma attacks 5 to 7 days before menstruation, especially 2 to 3 days before menstruation, which is called "premenstrual asthma". Symptoms gradually ease after menstruation. Some attacks occur during menstruation, which is called "menstrual asthma". Studies have shown that about 30% to 40% of asthmatic women have worsening or aggravated asthma symptoms before or during menstruation. The degree of aggravation of symptoms varies from person to person. Mild cases only have chest tightness, while severe cases require hospitalization.
