Lupus nephritis in children
Pediatric lupus nephritis, also known as systemic lupus erythenlatosus nephritis (SLEN), refers to patients with systemic lupus erythematosus who have clinical manifestations of kidney disease and abnormal renal function, or who only have glomerulonephritis lesions found during renal biopsy. Systemic lupus erythematosus is a recognized autoimmune disease, and its lesions mostly involve several systems or organs. Some SLE patients mainly have extrarenal symptoms and mild renal damage; another part of patients have renal damage as the main manifestation, and extrarenal symptoms are not obvious. The latter is easily misdiagnosed as primary glomerular disease.
