Subacute thyroiditis is a non-suppurative inflammatory disease. With the inflammatory destruction of the thyroid gland and tissue damage to complete recovery, corresponding clinical manifestations and changes in thyroid function appear, that is, from hyperthyroidism → hypothyroidism → normal thyroid function. It is more common in adults and rarely in children. This disease is a self-limiting disease with a course of several weeks to several months.
