Pseudo-obstruction
Intestinal pseudo-obstruction (IPO) is a disorder of intestinal wall muscle motor function caused by nerve inhibition, toxin stimulation or lesions of the intestinal wall smooth muscle itself. It has clinical symptoms and signs of intestinal obstruction, but there are no mechanical intestinal obstruction factors inside or outside the intestine. Therefore, it is also called dynamic intestinal obstruction, which is a syndrome without intestinal obstruction. According to the course of the disease, it can be divided into acute and chronic. Paralytic intestinal obstruction and spastic intestinal obstruction belong to acute pseudo-obstruction. Chronic pseudo-obstruction can be primary or secondary.
