Scorpion sting
Scorpions belong to the order Scorpio, class Arachnida. There are more than 300 species, and the size of the individuals varies greatly, ranging from 1 to 2 cm for the smallest to over 20 cm for the largest. Scorpions are viviparous, and the young scorpions leave their mother's body after about one week to live independently and forage for various insects. They are distributed all over the world, but are more common in northern my country. The scorpion's venom gland contains highly acidic venom, which is a neurotoxin, hemolytic toxin, and anticoagulant. If a person is stung, these toxins can be injected into the human body, causing dermatitis and poisoning symptoms. After the sting is found, the proximal end of the sting should be immediately tied with a tourniquet or an ice pack to reduce the absorption and spread of toxins, and then the venom should be sucked out as much as possible with a breast pump or cupping. If necessary, the wound should be expanded, and immediately rinsed with soapy water or 5% to 10% dilute ammonia solution (ammonia water) or 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution, and then wet compressed with 5% baking soda solution, and then 5% to 10% dilute ammonia solution mixed with alkaline powder was applied to the affected area to neutralize the acidic venom and relieve pain. It is forbidden to apply irritating drugs such as iodine to the wound.
