Subperiosteal (juxtacortical) chondromas are less common. Chondromas associated with multiple hemangiomas are called Maffuci syndrome. Chondromas are more common in single cases; multiple cases are less common and have the characteristics of occurring on one upper or lower limb or on both upper or lower limbs growing symmetrically, and are accompanied by limb malformations, which is also called enchondromatosis; those that occur on one limb are also called Ollier disease.
